Mountaingate Capital Promotes Trent Sisson, Hires Two Vice Presidents
DENVER, Colo., May 6, 2020 – Mountaingate Capital (“Mountaingate”), a Denver-based private equity firm employing a proven, buy-and-build strategy that empowers lower middle market companies with strong growth potential and engaged leadership teams, is pleased to announce that Trent Sisson has been promoted to Principal. In addition, the firm has hired two new Vice Presidents to join the team, Will Benton and Jay Royston.

Trent Sisson joined Mountaingate in 2017. Prior to joining the firm, Trent served as Director of Global Sales Operations with Sprinklr, Inc., a New York based Enterprise SaaS company offering a front-end platform for managing social networks. Before Sprinklr, Trent worked in sales finance for PepsiCo, Inc. after earning his MBA from Columbia Business School. Trent was an Associate with Mountaingate’s predecessor firm KRG Capital Partners from 2010-2013 and began his career as an investment banker with Wells Fargo Securities.
Will Benton joins Mountaingate as Vice President. Prior to Mountaingate, Will was with Lightyear Capital, a New York-based middle-market private equity firm focused on financial and business services. Will began his career as an investment banker with Credit Suisse, where he worked in the financial institutions group. Will graduated from the McIntire School of Commerce at the University of Virginia, with concentrations in Finance and Management.
Jay Royston joins Mountaingate as Vice President. Prior to Mountaingate, Jay was with MidOcean Partners, a New York-based middle-market private equity firm focused on the business services and consumer sectors. Jay began his career as an investment banker with Bank of America Merrill Lynch, where he worked on a variety of advisory and capital raising assignments within the Financial Institutions Group. Jay graduated from Duke University with a B.S. in Civil Engineering and a minor in Economics.
