Our sole mission is to partner with entrepreneurial management teams to advance lower middle market companies into industry leaders through a buy-and-build value creation strategy, with a rigorous adherence to customer-centric organic and acquisition growth.


Advancing lower middle market companies into industry leaders is our only mission. Typically, we start with platform companies generating between $5 million and $25 million in EBITDA within one of the four industry sectors where we have substantial experience and expertise: Marketing Services, Specialty Manufacturing, Specialty Distribution, and Business Services. We support passionate entrepreneurs and management teams to accelerate growth through both acquisitions and organic growth initiatives.

While Mountaingate does not participate in the day-to-day operations of our portfolio companies, we focus intensely on building and reinforcing a shared strategic vision for the business with our management team partners. We then take a servant leadership approach in providing services, support, and expertise to management to support the execution of the vision. Our team is actively involved in assisting management with strategic planning, identifying and executing acquisitions, supporting investments in people, systems, or technology, and arranging financing, all of which allows management to capitalize on growth opportunities. We believe that this provides our portfolio companies with a significant advantage in implementing a successful growth strategy with the objective of becoming a true industry leader.

We are aggressive growth investors, but we are also extremely rigorous about articulating a strategic plan based on a customer needs assessment, and measuring each growth opportunity against that plan.


How we invest and how we interact with our investment partners, management partners, and all related constituents is a reflection of our culture. We are based in Denver, Colorado, at the gateway to the Rocky Mountains. Our approach emphasizes honest hard work and a service-oriented mentality.
